Welcome to fitteddisplayshelves solutions. when searching the internet for a qualified carpenter and joiner that can make your book storage it is a good idea to view their previous completed works. When you have to choose the right tradesmen for work to be carried out on your birch shelves in my opinion it is best to find someone that just makes a particular style of floating shelves, a style of shelf you like of course, in which case you will probably find that those home storage suppliers are bigger companies then the tradesmen that make your book storage to your design. Where we are is in the middle, companies that are too small or too big miss the point that you want a supplier/installer that has enough experience to do the work but not too big that your just a number. We are keen to have your custom. I have worked out of a unit in Romford, North East London since 2007. We specialise in making; painting and fitting. Our preferred materials are Oak MDF and Ply, depending on strength and design requirements. Lead times are usually 2 - 3 weeks, but if your requirement is different, just ring or drop an email and we will see what we can do for you. Prices are given on a job by job basis and you may inquire for a guide or visit previous jobs completed and see their prices, and click on shelving prices. My address and contact details are:contact details The service from fitteddisplayshelves solutions will always be consistent with your expectations we will visit and compile a plan/drawing of your shelving/storage requirements if needed and then send an email or post confirmation of your plan/drawing along with a quote for your consideration/approval and after changes and or confirmation has been made we will collect a small deposit and begin off-site manufacture of your shelves/alcove unit to your specification, and then come and fit all in one day. At all times we will be ensuring that your wishes and even last minute points to be mindful of are taken on board. children-shelves can also be a good use of space and Our floating shelves offer a great looking alternative to that shadow created by the old bookcase that some of us dislike, The modern looking shadow less fully fitted shelves comes in many finishes you can have any finish/colour or sheen you require. It is always best to have a clear idea of what shelves/alcove units/storage it is that your after. Always try to have a drawing of the type of shelves/alcove unit/storage in mind. This helps when dealing with any minor alterations to your design. If help is needed do not hesitate to inquire. Deposits are normal and common practice. My recommendation is to have the deposit paid using a cheque or bank transfer although we do find discounts are available on occasions when dealing with cash this is ok with small sums of money, but this approach can be difficult if you pay too much too soon. We make and fit shelves/alcove units in different wood finishes. These include oak, birch, walnut, and other hardwoods, stained mdf and painted finishes the painted finishes are either rollered, sprayed or lacquered. A survey maybe necessary in which case we will make some drawings and if you would like to go ahead we take a small deposit and we then pre make every thing followed by the installation at your convenience. This is our normal procedure. Our practice in our manufacturing unit is to have a small deposit to begin with and a sketch followed by the manufacturing and installation. Often the installation is completed in just one day, followed by the rest of the money on completion. We do not give credit because that would result in us having to raise our prices to cover the administration of chasing monies delayed, and increased cash flow requirements. Other considerations include whether or not your paying too much. If once we had purchased our shelves/alcove units, we found it much cheaper somewhere else, it would make us feel bad. The money saved could have paid for something else important. In my experience first as a carpenter and joiner and now running a small manufacturing unit, is that price depends on so many factors. It is true to say a penny saved is a penny earned, but similarly if you pay peanuts you might get monkeys. It is not always a good thing to pay more in the hope to get a better service. What we all want is a fair job done for a fair price paid. We strive when designing to give the best value for money. When talking to my customers I have found that they appreciate it when I mention to them that doing it that way or this way will cost more money because it impacts on time in the manufacturing. I then follow through with an alternative approach that achieves similar results without the associated costs. Cheap shelves are available. Cheap does not mean lacking in function or quality or strength. It means to us take what ever measures are required to reduce the cost of manufacturing to a point where the customer says I am happy. This is the objective. Another issue when choosing the right company or tradesmen is the quality of workmanship. The quality of the finish and the quality of service. Our mission statement is to bring about the desired result and desired experience for every customer however unique that customer may be. With our in house manufacturing and spray booth we are able to check the quality at every stage of development right through to the installation of your shelves/alcove unit. What areas do we work in? The locations we cover are: but we are in no way restricted to just these areas, and look to cover more areas and locations all the time. e3, e17, e4, Moorgate, w2, Tulse Hill, Eastcote, ,and Romford, and surrounding areas. What we would do is get your basic construction put together on paper and give a ball park figure on prices. If this falls within your budget, then we would come and visit if required, get the exacting description and requirements. This would be followed by our all inclusive final quote. We do visits, for jobs that are normally within an hour of my unit address. I wait until I have a few visits to make and then try and see everybody in one day. If you would rather not wait, then special visits can be made at certain times. For special visits I just ask for expense money of £40 which you get back off the price. You may avoid the need for delay for a visit by taking your own measurements. I need the left to right measurement of your shelves. I also need the distance from the front of the shelf back to the wall.also the height and whether or not it is close or touching the ceiling? Finally the finish? You could have light wood, dark wood, painted mdf or painted strong ply. The measurements could be taken using either metric or imperial. If your really unsure, just read both measurements on the tape measure i.e the metric and imperial and relay both measurements for the same length. e.g. Left to right measurement could be 1200mm(metric or 48"inches imperial. the front to back of the shelf measurement could be 600mm or 24" (inches) If you have drawers to be built, please state if they are to be fitted behind one or two doors. just give the height and width of the drawer unit and the size of the proposed handles. So as to enable enough space for the handles, which the doors have to close in front of. I will look forward to your further interest and investigation into the kind of service and shelves/alcove units you may want. We are flexible and always mindful of keeping costs down. So feel free to make an obligation free inquiry and I wish you all the best. If you are considering other services that come recommended such as alcove-shelves-london,&made-2-measure-floating-shelves, these come highly recommended. Yours truly, Mark Barry B.Sc. The difference between made to measure joinery, fitting some joinery into position that has been made to fit as best as possible, but is free standing vs the made to measure joinery that has the fitted look. Joinery that has been made to meaure and as a finishing touch looks fitted also and has no gaps, and is not free standing, it may also fit floor to ceiling and it looks great!Under-stairs storage and under eves/loft storage angled or sloping door tops The space under the stairs could be used as a closet, bathroom, shelves, storage, office or cloakroom, with or without a pull out system. It is often not used to its full potential, here are some examples of under stairs pull out bespoke fitted systems. Using the extra space under an existing staircase could not be simpler. All is required is clearing out all the old internals, and the panelling on the side and tidying up the edges etc. Then replacing the panelling with doors or pull out storage draws and uprights for internal shelves. Why not consider a tailor made, designed, manufactured and installed under stair storage cupboard/cabinet or perhaps some under stairs drawers or my specially made and fitted pull storage system? The perfect under stairs storage solution for anything from shoes; coats; hover; golf clubs; heavy items like weights or even a pull out office or media room. Many people are now realizing the potential uses of that space under the stairs and are even considering using this area as an understairs wine cellar. There are many options to chose from, with ideas for the finish and style being interchangeable. With my build, design and strength and everything being made for a perfect fit, you can rest assured that once everything is installed, and with weight limits ranging from 90kg upto 180kg, that you will have made the right choice. Some questions I often get asked is how deep does the understairs cabinet have to go? Is my gas or electric meter is in the way? Do all the understairs units have to be the same depth? The answer is the depths can vary. And the depth you need may be very different from others and the depths can range from as little as 400mm upto 1100mm. Gas meters and electric meters, that are situated under the stairs mostly need access. I have found that these are mostly at one end of the understairs area. So they are all grouped together, and it is for this reason, that quite often one of the sections is left as a door with internal shelving, so that complete access is left for reading of meters. A bespoke under stairs study for the hallway incorporating beautiful hand crafted fitted furniture can make a wonderful addition to any home. With some added features such as under-shelf lighting and extra deep pull out storage or even pull down storage will elegantly hide all that paper work. Supply or supply and fit angled doors for fitting under the stairs or in the eves in the loft space can be really handy. The doors can be supplied painted or unpainted. Just measure the angle by taking note of the different heights along the base where you want the door to start and end. Having a pull out storage unit in the eves of the loft can be really handy way of storing items, leaving you with quick and easy access. Loft room angled doors available for that sloping roof. Making cupboards out of that hard to reach area under the eves or at those awkward corners no longer need to be a problem. I can supply or even supply and fit all you need, including pull out storage systems with weight capacity s of upto 180kg. Understairs prices range from the cheapest, that of having some sloping doors/angled doors made and sent out, costing £990.00 for 3 angled doors unpainted. Plus postage and packing/delivery, depending on location. Through to understairs draws with sloping tops to the draw fronts or angled tops to the draw fronts, with more draws underneath that will most likely have square tops to the draw fronts. These cost more money because they are fitted to the front of drawers. Which ofcourse have a draw and draw runners, including a carcass to fit the draws too. So now you have the angled doors/draw fronts and the draws and the carcasses to pay for. A three door/draw angled top wide under eves or understairs storage solution starts at £990.00 and goes up from there. The next most expensive understairs or under eves in the loft solution is pull out units. These will need to be professionally fitted as they are simply too complicated to supply for other fitters or customers to fit for themselves. But this option starts at £990.00 for a 3 door wide pull out unit upto £990.00 for extra strength or extra deep pull out understair or under eves storage solution.
